Special Events...

The Corniche may be one of the most popular locations in Doha. Stretching along Doha Bay, this grassy expanse offers a pedestrian-only area for unwinding and relaxation. Facing the waters of the Arabian Gulf, you can enjoy a walk or jog amongst the palm trees that line the area or a stroll with a friend in the evening as the stars of Doha sparkle in the sky. Many organized activities take place along the Corniche, including parades and fireworks, and the area serves as the starting and finishing lines for various sporting events.
Theatres...

The Doha Players, an English founded large international Community Theatre is regionally renowned for producing several plays and musicals throughout the year where both young and old can perform, run backstage operations or simply enjoy as audience members.. There are several movie theatres where movie-lovers can watch their favorite films and new flicks, or try one of the many video rental companies offering the best in movie entertainment.
Exhibitions...

The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) market has been identified as a growth sector for Qatar. With its state-of-the-art meeting facilities, Qatar is well-positioned to host events of any size. Conference organizers will find everything they need to host highly successful and very enjoyable meetings. In addition to the first-class hotels and facilities available, Qatar offers business travellers beautiful scenery and wonderful shopping in a relaxing environment – a wonderful combination of business and pleasure.
media...

The New Arab Media Phenomenon: ---Qatar's Al-Jazeera--- Nothing distinguishes al-Jazeera's modest studios from the hundreds of new buildings in Doha except its exceptional security measures and official procedures. Al-Jazeera is the first Arab TV station based on Arab soil that is expressly critical of Arab regimes and governments and even dares insult them occasionally. This paper will attempt to address several questions about this new phenomenon. How was al-Jazeera born and how did it become what it now is? What kinds of changes has it brought to Arab media, and what has been its impact on the Arab people? What is the content of the programs which have made it famous? What are the criticisms leveled against it?
Clubs...

In addition to hotels and housing compounds, there are several private clubs offering fitness facilities, which are especially important when it becomes too hot to exercise outdoors. Most of the private and hotel clubs offer additional services, such as indoor and/or outdoor temperature-controlled swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms. Be sure to check out the many on-site spa and massage areas for a complete body workout. The clubs offer memberships at reasonable rates. Take the time to view the various options and select one that suits you the best.
