McDonald's Qatar ...

McDonald's restaurants in Qatar are Qatari owned and operated by Al Mana Restaurant & Food Company.
McDonald's has seven restaurants in Qatar and the first restaurant opened in December 1995.

McDonald's Qatar has been actively involved in a variety of pursuits in the community. It has taken part in numerous projects organized by the Qatar Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Resources (QSENR), a government body whose aim is to provide the general public and businesses with information about protecting the environment and encourages active participation in its schemes. It has also gained support from other bodies who shares the same goal of protecting the environment, through various programs such as themed drawing competitions and beach clean-up projects.

McDonald's Qatar crew regularly visit schools, charitable institutions, hospitals, and various civic groups and has helped schools in fund raising projects, supported young athletes by providing refreshments in the field during matches and encouraged athletes to participate and be rewarded during sportsfest and competitions. Most notably, it has supported the Emir Cup Annual Football League, The Qatar Jet-

Ski Federation, The Qatar Taekwondo Federation and other expatriate civic groups such as the Philippine Scrabble League and the Philippine Basketball League.

The Qatar Handicapped Society has received wheelchairs, television and play station sets from McDonald's Qatar and the company has donated part of its sales revenue to the establishment of the Al Shaffalah Center for children with special needs.

McDonald's has touched and has been loved by children in hospitals, becoming a special friend to most children at the Hamad and Rumeillah Hospitals.

In the Arab nations, all McDonald's restaurants are locally owned and operated by Arab entrepreneurs. The first restaurant in the region opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 8th, 1993; then Jeddah, KSA on January 19th, 1994; Oman in March 1994; Kuwait in June 1994; Bahrain on December 15th, 1994; the UAE on December 22nd, 1994; and Qatar in December 1995.
