Hurricane Florence aftermath: Pollution spills into waterways

Hurricane Florence has left its mark on the southeastern United States. Now, there’s a danger lurking in its aftermath.

Rising floodwaters are now carrying pollution and toxic chemicals – released from inundated pig farms and a coal ash spill – across North Carolina, threatening waterways and drinking water.
