Traffic department urge residents to be disciplined on national day

Brig. Muhammad Saad Al Kharji, Director-General of Traffic, urged residents to abide by traffic guidelines throughout National Day celebrations.

He was addressing a seminar ‘Traffic Safety on National Day’, organised by the Media & Awareness Department of the General Directorate of Traffic.

He said people must avoid placing pictures, posters and flags on the entire body of the car that would change its colour; shading the windshield and rear windows, which prevents the driver from viewing the road.

Placing decorations that hide car plates, climbing on the roofs of cars and the engine cover, getting out of the car’s windows and sunroof, blocking traffic, parking in no parking zones and carrying more than the permitted number of people are also forbidden. [The Peninsula]
