Why London’s Notting Hill Carnival means more this year

Hundreds of thousands of people are in west London for Europe‘s biggest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival.

The event celebrates Afro-Caribbean culture and aims to promote racial tolerance.

It has taken on special significance this year following the UK government’s Windrush deportation scandal.
