Doha: H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, yesterday met the Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, and her delegation.

Sheikha Moza praised the legislation Rousseff issued to develop education in Brazil.

Rousseff praised Sheikha Moza’s efforts on the international level to support education as right of all.

Both sides discussed cooperation and partnership in various fields, including Qatar National Library and how to benefit from its archives and from Arab documents found in Brazilian archives.

Cooperation between QF and educational institutions in Brazil was also discussed.

Rousseff and her delegation also visited Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).

They were briefed on MIA and its construction stages, its role in disseminating science, culture, and encouraging creativity and communication with arts and cultures of the world.

She toured various sections and was briefed on contents collected from three continents 14 centuries ago.

She signed the honorary record, describing the collections as a wealth of Islamic culture and heritage. The MIA administration presented her with a copy of a book explaining the museum’s landmarks, design and contents.

Later, Rousseff and her delegation left Doha. They were seen off at Hamad International Airport by the Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Qatari Ambassador to Brazil Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Hayki and Brazilian Charge d’Affaires in Doha Viviane Rios Balbino.
